TALON MODULE 6: Finding Periodical Articles
Newspapers

Newspapers are usually published daily or weekly and contain current news, feature articles, and editorials. Simpson Library has a number of both regional and national newspapers, including a complete run of the New York Times-all the way back to 1851.

The Library keeps recent newspapers on the Current Periodicals shelves behind the stairwell on the first floor, arranged alphabetically by title. Older issues are maintained in microfilm and are organized by call number. Electronic full-text articles from several hundred newspapers published in the U.S. and around the world can be found in the LexisNexis Academic database. Click on the Library’s guide to Newspaper Resources to find more information on online newspapers.
